Apple discloses serious security vulnerabilities for iPhones,
Apple revealed serious security vulnerabilities on Wednesday for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Software defects could allow attackers to take full control of these devices, Apple said in two security reports.
The company said it is “aware of a report that this problem may have been actively exploited.”
Security experts have advised users to update affected devices: iPhone 6s and later models; Several iPad models, including the 5th generation and later, all iPad Pro and iPad Air 2 models; and Mac computers that run macos Monterey.
It also affects some iPod models.
Apple’s explanation of vulnerability means that a hacker could obtain “full access to the administrator to the device” so that they can “execute any code as if they were, the user,” said Rachel Tobac, CEO of SocialProof Security.
Those who must be particularly attentive to the update of their software are “people who are in the public eye”, as activists or journalists who could be the objectives of the sophisticated espionage in nation, Tobac said.
